  • Generic Album? Read this.

I know I’m in the minority when it comes to opinions on the album, but I decided to make this review anyway. I loved this album, it communicated angst and feelings that we’d all felt at some time in our lives, and at least once after I listened to a song on this album, I muttered under my breath: “Me too.” I also loved Human, which is also an opinion in the minority. I feel like that album resonated so deeply with me, that I couldn’t even sing along to some of the songs because I was so speechless and blown away. Matt wasn’t afraid to touch the subjects we hide from, or sometimes even ignore. Outsider, is like that in a way. Everyone is saying that it has lazy writing and cheesy lyrics, but I think it’s because we’ve heard these words before, and we’ve maybe spoken them once or twice. That goes to show that we’ve been through things like that, that we’ve felt like an outsider ourselves. The main song that ties the entire album together, and that changed my entire perspective of the album, was The Abyss. This song spoke about finding refuge in your own mind to avoid the troubles of reality. I feel like we do that sometimes as well. At least once, but what I think the ENTIRE ALBUM is trying to say, is that feeling like AN OUTSIDER is only in your MIND. You only find this out until the end, because that’s how life is. You don’t know where you’re going, and you just keep moving on. (Right Left Wrong.) You go through so many things to finally realize that your insecurities were the only problem. All you have to do now, is step out of The Abyss, and grow. This album doesn’t seem all that generic now does it?

very nice job guys. it always takes me some time to get used to the new songs, but I ended up loving most of this album. Matt's voice is great, and the rest of the band adopted well to it. always looking forward to more.
  • Meh

I’m not saying the album is horrible, but I just don’t feel it to be TDG like Humans was awesome Matt did a great job and this album is just sorta lacking for me. But I still love TDG I mean there my fav. So am I gonna but this album no, but I’ll buy the first 3 songs because structurally I think those are the best out of the whole album.

Loved the songs. Mountain is especially good. All the other people hating because Adam left need to give them a chance. Listen to the songs before you decide to hate them

After the last album, I was thinking a little disappointed as there was only a couple songs I liked. I almost didn’t even get this one. I’m so glad I did though! I haven’t stopped listening to it since the full album dropped! It’s probably my favorite album of theirs!
  • Album is straight perfect!

Great job guys! This album has so many feels and some songs are powerful and have a strong meaning. I felt like the album describes expresses me and how I feel to the world. Thank you TDG for making this album and putting so much hard work into it. Out of all the great songs, my favorite track is now Infra-red. Keep it up and look forward to seeing these songs played in person!
